Where this started
The category around the decisions that go into forming an LLC is well served by marketing pages and badly served by plain description. Almost everything written about it is either produced by a vendor or assembled quickly enough that nobody checked it.
This site is an attempt at the other thing: fewer pages, written more slowly, that say what something does and where it stops.
What you will find here
Individual write-ups, direct comparisons, and explainers for the vocabulary that gets in the way of a straight answer.
Pages are written one at a time and published when they are finished, rather than generated in a batch to fill a directory.
How it is written
Where one option is better than another for a given job, that is said in words, with the reason attached. It is never expressed as a number.
- No scores out of ten, no star ratings, no tier boards and no leaderboards.
- No description of testing that did not take place.
- Pricing and feature claims are checked against the vendor’s own pages, and dated where the page says so.
- Where something is genuinely unclear, the page says it is unclear rather than guessing.
